It is a picture perfect example of what is wrong with government when it attempts to regulate something that is meant to restrain it. I oppose all attempts to restrict gun ownership and will fight to protect the rights of gun owners to protect their own. In a world where guns exist, a right to bear arms is essential for a person to defend their property, family, and self. An inalienable right to gun ownership is essential to protecting every other right.
Opponents of gun ownership cite the dangers of guns and provide anecdotal arguments as proof needed for gun restrictions, yet every major piece of evidence shows that increased gun ownership decreases crime and decreased gun ownership increases crime. No police force, no government will ever be able to properly protect and provide security and safety for every individual, and as such, it should be the right of every individual to secure the means necessary to protect what is theirs.
As a US Congressman, I will fight to remove any federal restrictions on firearm ownership.
