I have spent almost my entire life in Kentucky's Sixth District, and am more than glad to call it home. The people here are proud, hard working, kind, and have always made me feel honored to live here. It is because of my love for my home that I have decided to run in the Republican Primary for US Congress.
Dissatisfied with the options presented this year and in the past, I have decided to enter the race as a conservative without exception. The federal government doesn't need a scalpel, it needs a hatchet. The only people that know what is truly best for Kentucky are the people in Kentucky. We are a nation of diverse and individualistic people with very different needs, wants, and desires, and there should be no reason that Kentucky should depend on the delegates of other states to determine its future.
I will lay out, in detail, every major stance that I hold for you to make an informed decision off of, but every single stance that I make is based off of one thing, that we are all created equal and with the rights to life, liberty, and property. These rights are granted to us by our creator, and not by government. Government simply protects those rights.
I believe in the Christian principles that we are all born free to choose our path in life, and I will fight to ensure that government does not prevent you from living your life as you see fit, as long as you bring no harm to others. No government will ever know you better than you know yourself and no government can ever live your life better for you than you can. As such, it should be government's position to stay out of the way and only focus on those who threaten or attack your right to do so. Government should always be our servant and never our master.
If you are upset with Washington and are tired of our state being forced to live under the tyranny of others, then I ask for you to take a stand with me this coming election. Together, we can take our rights and liberties back and bring a more prosperous and free future to Kentucky.
Sincerely,
Patrick J Kelly II
